Paulo Fonte's relationship with photography began on the sands of the Brazilian beaches, always photographing friends who were surfing and having fun at the same time. He recognized his passion for perfect results and that passion led him to study photography. Since 2009 he has been working professionally.
His photographs have shown surfing and swimwear in Bahia for over 10 years. Paulo Fontes is best known for his SURF photos and models - the inventor of "supermodels" in Bahia. But the work of this native from Bahia has many features.
First working as a freelance advertising photographer in Salvador, Paulo Fontes managed to launch the first fashion publication in the magazine "Mahalo Press" in 2010. He worked for 3 years at the Bahia Surf Federation and 6 years at the beachwear company "Três Marias" and became the most famous surf and model photographer in Bahia. A romantic-naturalist tone – such as hair carefully tousled by the wind on dunes – or abandoned places and individual beaches – as well as industrial settings or warehouses – characterized the backdrops of the fashion photos. Although Paulo Fonte's style was initially dramatic and moving, in 2015 he became a master of fashion photography.
It takes patience and a lot of creativity to produce a beautiful photo. Fonte’s credo is based on the fact that in the best fashion photos you must first connect with the model and extract a little bit of her personality through the looking. The fashion transmitted directly in his photos is part of the protagonists' lives.
In 2021, he married his German wife. Jana Fontes has worked for 20 years as a successful manager in the beauty industry. Both of them now follow the same dream of traveling and working together. They also founded their company: REMISSION - remember your mission- in the same year. Paulo moved to Europe, realized his dream and now works internationally.
